Why Should I Be Interested and How Can I Get Involved?

The Oneonta Susquehanna Greenway will become an important asset to the community.  It will:

* Provide a scenic, traffic-free trail for outdoor recreation for all ages.

* Improve the quality of life for the entire community

* Restore vitality to damaged and abandoned land.

* Make the Susquehanna River accessible to all

* Provide a riverside location for outdoor education

* Provide alternative transportation routes

* Preserve biodiversity of plants and animals.

The City of Oneonta has supported and cooperated with the Greenway committee. At the right Kevin Kelly (right), Greenway committee member, consults with Mike Baldwin (left) from the City of Oneonta about clearing brush for the installation of a split rail fence along the trail. Mike operated the bush hog and cleared the border of the trail.

You Can Help:

* Donate time, services, or supplies for trail development.

* Make tax deductible contributions

* Keep informed about the project's progress and support the development of greenway trails in our community.

* Tell your state and local elected officials that you support the Greenway project and want them to support it too.

* Tell your friends and neighbors about the proposed trail, and

*Enjoy the trail when it is completed.

Specify that the donation should go to the Oneonta Susquehanna Greenway. If you would like your name placed on a list of donors, we will do that. If you wish to remain anonymous, we will respect that wish.
