3. Proceed along Silas Lane until you see the Oneonta Susquehanna Greenway parking lot sign . Access to the trail is at the rear of the parking lot. As well as a place to park, you will find a brightly colored map of the Susquehanna River, which eventually flows into the Chesapeake Bay. |

Where is the Oneonta Greenway?
| At the back of the parking lot is a trail sign bearing the OSG logo and asking visitors to go right or left on the trail. The trail parallels I-88 for some distance and then turns towards the river.
Members of the Greenway have recently developed the part of the trail which turns right. This provides a shorter trip to the river. Safety is a major consideration, and the Greenway volunteers have installed signs to warn hikers of the Silas Lane crossing. Other signs warn drivers of the pedestrian crossing. |
